What is clinical research?

Clinical research is a scientific study of the effects, risks, efficacy and benefits of a medicinal product. These are carried out prior to the release of the medicine in the market. These trials are undertaken at various stages and studies are conducted after the launch of a new product to monitor safety and side effects during large scale use.

A clinical trial is a scientific study of the effects, risks and benefits of a medicinal product, including new drug substances and currently marketed drugs. A clinical researcher studies issues and concerns related to mental health and wellness. Clinical researchers have a wide array of goals: understanding the etiology of disease and the disease process, identifying and evaluating potential treatments and their outcomes, and studying policies related to the delivery of services. Clinical Research is conducted to assess and compile efficacy and safety data for drugs and devices for human consumption / use. Clinical trials are conducted in four phases in accordance with stringent regulatory guidelines to protect and enhance the health of mankind.
If you have been drawn towards a career in clinical research with a passion to serve humanity, now is the time to do it. Due to the global outsourcing of clinical research to India and the significant research and development conducted by India’s very own pharmaceutical enterprises, the industry is expected to grow by 25 percent per annum. With “state-of-the-art” research facilities and a high percentage of highly qualified English speaking professionals, India is now poised to become the global hub of clinical research. The Indian pharmaceutical industry is currently estimated at US$ 5.40 billion with a high growth trajectory projected in the near future. Over a 100 new centers conducting clinical trials have come up in the last 3 years to support the ever-growing global and Indian pharmaceutical sectors.
Hence, there is an increased demand for skilled clinical research professionals more than ever before. MCRI is a clinical research Institute committed to grooming future professionals by imparting knowledge – theoretical and practical. MCRI courses, which are up-to-date with the latest developments and technology, are designed by leaders in the CR industry.
